Ramya’s Food N Fusion

A place where food that is light for stomach and strong for the mind

Good food is always light on the stomach and strong on the mind. The philosophy holds true when it comes to healthy food.

Ramya Ajay, the woman behind Ramya’s Food N Fusion, believes good food is not about making one feel heavy in the stomach. This is why she makes sure her food is not just tasty, but also easy to digest.

The 43-year-old took a break from her 18 years of service as medical coder and transcriptionists. While she was an avid baker during her stay in Kolkata, moving to Pune eight months back brought many changes in her life, other than just the location.

“I took a break from my job and when we shifted our base from Kolkata to Pune, I thought of starting my food kitchen, where I can cook healthy food for people who can’t find time to cook themselves,” Ramya said.

Specializing in South Indian food, Ramya is taking care of regular tiffin services for many subscribers. “I started my kitchen some seven months ago and almost around the same time, I tied up with the PinkAprons. I found their concept appealing and it aligned with my idea of serving home-cooked healthy food to people who appreciate it,” Ramya said.

“You cannot eat restaurant food on a daily basis. Not only is it expensive, it is also unhealthy. I provide the same food to the patrons that my family eats. I don’t believe in storing cooked food in the refrigerator and serving it for a week. I make sure to prepare fresh food every time I get an order.”

Ramya believes starting a kitchen is not always about financial stability for a woman, it is also about mental satisfaction.

“When a woman starts a food place, we assume that there must be some financial crisis at her end. But when a man does the same thing, it can be about his love for food. I think we need to change the mentality and understand that a woman can cook for the love of food too. I love it when people like my food and find it healthy,” she said.

Now that’s how real love for food looks.
